After graduating from Mount Carmel, I thought that all girls Catholic school was so fun, I went to Mt Saint Scolastica in Atchison Kansas. After one year I decided that maybe it wasn’t that fun after all. I then went to Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska and received a degree in Medical Technology. I have Patsy Callahan’s father, Dr. Callahan, to thank for getting me started in that career. Each summer during my college years he hired me to work in the lab at St. Francis Hospital as a lab assistant. It was a great career to have for the next 20+ years.
I married my college sweetheart and we had 2 great boys. Unfortunately the marriage did not last. One day I went skydiving and discovered that there was a life out there! I filed for divorce the next day.
I continued skydiving and skiing and ended up marrying my skydiving sweetheart and moving to Colorado. I changed careers after getting a masters degree in Computers and spent the last 15 years as a software engineer. That ended up being a great career move. My last job was writing interfaces and applications for hospital software, so I was able to combine both careers.
I retired about one year ago and enjoying golfing, skiing, aerobics, biking and sailing (quit skydiving about 10 years ago). And when I am lucky, I get to visit my 2 young grandkids
